A CPET is a 30 minute exercise test carried out by a physician to obtain cardiopulmonary fitness information.

What is included:

  • Physician-run test

Pre-Test Requirements:

  • You must be able to walk/run on a treadmill or exercise on a stationary bike.

  • You must be able to tolerate a mask or mouthpiece.

  • If you have heart disease or lung disease, a physician consultation will be required first.

  • You may be asked to hold certain medications that would interfere with your heart rate.

  • If you have asthma, you may be asked to bring your inhaler.

An add-on lung function test (spirometry) is available to understand your lung performance, capacity, and volumes.

If purchasing a CPET outside of a plan, following your scan, you'll receive a comprehensive print-out report detailing your results.
