A CPET is a 30 minute exercise test carried out by a physician to obtain cardiopulmonary fitness information.

Pre-Test Requirements:
You must be able to walk/run on a treadmill or exercise on a stationary bike.
You must be able to tolerate a mask or mouthpiece.
If you have heart disease or lung disease, a physician consultation will be required first.
You may be asked to hold certain medications that would interfere with your heart rate.
If you have asthma, you may be asked to bring your inhaler.
An add-on lung function test (spirometry) is available to understand your lung performance, capacity, and volumes.
If purchasing a CPET outside of a plan, following your scan, you'll receive a comprehensive print-out report detailing your results.
